Impaired Driving

On July 6, 2022 at approximately 8:30 am, police received a report of a stolen vehicle.  The owner suspected a family took the vehicle while the owner was away from home.

Shortly before 10:00 am, police located the vehicle and stopped it in the 600 block of 11th street.  It was being driven by the suspected family member, who didn’t have authorization to have access to it. 

The 22-year-old male driver displayed signs of intoxication by drug.  He failed the evaluation by the Drug Recognition Expert and was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired.  He was later released and will appear in court on July 14, 2022 with an additional charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Prohibited Driving

On July 6, 2022, shortly after 11:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Percy Street.  The driver provided police with a driver’s license, which was stolen out of Saskatchewan and was arrested.  Once police learned his identity, the 40-year-old male was found to be a prohibited driver. 

He was later released and will appear in court on September 1, 2022 on charges of Prohibited Driving, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Identity Fraud.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 22, 2022, police received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 1900 block of 1st street.  Security footage from the area assisted police in identifying the suspect, a 15-year-iold male.  On July 6, 2022, police located and arrested the suspect.  He was later released and will appear in court on August 23, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 6, 2022 shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a residence.  The 35-year-old male was found to be hallucinating due to meth use, and he was no longer welcome in the home.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On July 6, 2022, police located and arrested a 30-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court X2.  He was later released and will appear in court in September.
