Fatal House Fire

On June 5, 2023 at approximately 3:35 pm, police received a report of a house fire in the 600 block of 21st street.  When police arrived, the house was full of smoke and they were unable to enter.  When BFES arrived, they entered and located a 38-year-old male resident inside.  The male was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Members of BPS Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit attended.  The investigation continues.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On June 5, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 1400 block of Victoria Ave.  Suspects gained entry into an unlocked porch overnight and stole two pairs of Ray-ban sunglasses, and other personal items.

Break and Enter to Business – Suspect Arrested

On June 5, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a business in the 600 block of 8th street.  Suspects gained entry to the compound overnight.  Once inside they tipped over several items and caused damage to a truck.  It does not appear that anything was stolen.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the 51-year-old male suspect

The suspect was located and arrested at approximately 5:40 pm.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level and will be released to appear in court on July 31, 2023 on charges of Break, Enter and Commit Mischief.

 

Break and Enter – Suspects Arrested

On June 5, 2023, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a vacant apartment building in the 900 block of Stickney Ave.  The building was closed up for renovations and nobody was to be inside.  Police attended and located a 36-year-old male and a 22-year-old female inside.  They were arrested and later released to appear in court on July 24, 2023 on charges of Break, Enter and Commit Mischief.

 

Assault

On June 5, 2023, police received a report of an assault at a business in the 800 block of

Rosser Ave.  A 28-year-old male suspect assaulted an employee while he was being escorted off the property.  The employee was not injured.  The suspect was located and arrested nearby.  He was later released to appear in court on July 31, 2023 on a charge of Assault.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 5, 2023, shortly after 9:00 pm, police observed a 25-year-old male in the 700 block of Van Horne Ave in the company of an individual with whom he was to have no communication.  The male was arrested on a new charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order, and police learned that he was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Appear in Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 5, 2023, at approximately 10:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Louise Ave.  A 32-year-old female passenger was wanted on outstanding charges of Possess Meth and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime.  She was later released to appear in court on July 13, 2023.

 

Mischief Under $5000

On June 6, 2023 shortly before 3:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who had smashed a window at a business in the 1000 block of 18th street.  The 25-year-old male was located and arrested.  He was later released to appear in court on August 28, 2023 on a charge of Mischief Under $5000.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 6, 2023 at approximately 4:00 am, police observed a 33-year-old male in the 700 block of 10th street.  The male was to abide by a daily curfew and was arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
