Stabbing - Suspect Arrested

On July 5, 2022 shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who had been stabbed by an extended family member at a residence following a fight.

When officers arrived at the residence, they found a 28-year-old female with a large life-threatening cut, which they treated with a tourniquet prior to the arrival of an ambulance.  The victim remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Investigation revealed the suspect used a pair of scissors.

The 28-year-old female suspect left the scene prior to police arrival, but she was located and arrested at her own residence a short time later.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Aggravated Assault.

 

Break and Enter – Suspect Arrested

On July 5, 2022, at approximately 7:30 am, police responded to a report of a property owner returning to a vacant property to check on it, and finding a window open, that was left secure the day before. 

Police found a 41-year-old male sleeping inside.  Police arrested the male and found he was in possession of a stolen computer.  He was also found to be the subject of outstanding charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared yesterday in court, with new charged of Unlawfully in a Dwelling and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On July 5, 2022, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the 200 block of 18th street N prior to 2:00 pm.  The vehicle is described as a 2016 grey Dodge Grand Caravan with Manitoba license BPZ225.

Break and Enters

On July 5, 2022, police received a report of a break and enter to a business storage shed in the 600 block of Braecrest Drive.  Suspects forced their way into the shed overnight by prying the door.  It is unknown if they stole anything.

On July 5, 2022, police received a report of a break and enter to a residential shed on Hemlock Crescent.  Suspects forced their way in overnight by cutting the lock.  Stolen was a blue and black Yardworks 3-in-1 push mower.

Arrest Warrant

On July 5, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1200 block of Rosser Ave at approximately 7:30 pm.  The issue had resolved itself by the time police arrived, but at the scene was a 38-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges.  Following her arrest, she was released to appear in court on a later date on charges of Assault with a Weapon X2.

 

Breach of Peace

On July 5, 2022 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  An intoxicated 24-year-old female had worn out her welcome and was refusing to leave.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
