Motor Vehicle Collision – Highway 1 and 1st street N

On February 28, 2022, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 1 and 1st street N at approximately 10:18 pm.  Investigation revealed that a southbound SUV went through the red light.  A westbound tractor-trailer unit travelling westbound struck the SUV. 

The 48-year-old female driver of the SVU was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  She received a fine under the Highway Traffic Act for Disobey Traffic Control Device.  The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed.  Both vehicles were required to be towed.  The intersection was completely re-opened to traffic by 11:41 pm.

 

Breach of Peace

On February 28, 2022, shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female banging on windows in the 1000 block of Rosser Ave.  Police located the 35-year-old female whose behavior was escalating as she was under the influence of illicit drugs.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Break and Enter to Residence – Suspect Arrested

On February 28, 2022, shortly after 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 700 block of 8th street.  The home had no tenants and the owner had secured the building, only to discover an individual had broken in and was still inside.  Police attended and arrested the 33-year-old male.  He was later released and will appear in court on May 9, 2022 on a charge of Break and Enter.
