CDSA Residential Search Warrant

On March 3, 2022 at 11:40 pm, members of BPS Organized Crime Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of 10th street following an investigation into the occupants.

As a result, police located and seized 175 grams of Cocaine, 13 grams of Psilocybin, cash, a loaded Churchill 12 gauge shotgun, a Maverick Arms 12 gauge shotgun with collapsible stock, a Mossberg .22 caliber sawed off rifle, numerous 12 gauge and .22 caliber ammunitions, machetes, a C02 Glock pistol, as well as packaging materials and a scale.

Arrested were a 19-year-old male and a 22-year-old female.

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Psilocybin, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm X3, Unsafe Storage of Firearm X3, Possession of a Weapon, and under the Body Armor and Vehicle Fortifications Act – Possess Body Armor.

The female was arrested and released.  She will appear in court on May 11, 2023 on similar charges.

 

Armed Robbery

On March 3, 2023 at approximately 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male with a gun at an apartment in the 000 block of 10th street.  Police learned that several individuals had been assaulted as well.

When police arrived in the area the suspect fled on foot, but the 35-year-old male was arrested after a short foot chase. 

Further investigation revealed that the suspect stabbed a female victim with a pair of scissors, and struck a male victim with a CO2 handgun.  Both victims were treated and released from the hospital for their injuries.

The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Use Imitation Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Break and Enter, Armed Robbery, Resist Arrest, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Fail to Comply with Release Order X6.

 

Fraudulently Obtaining Food

On March 3, 2023, police responded to a report of a female who ordered and ate a meal at a restaurant in the 000 block of McTavish Ave E, before leaving without paying.  Police located and arrested the 25-year-old female nearby.  She was released to appear in court on April 17, 2023 on a charge of Fraudulently Obtaining Food.

 

Fail to Comply Release Order

On March 3, 2023, police responded to a report of an individual causing problems in the 300 block of 15th street.  When police arrived they confirmed that the 43-year-old male was breaching conditions of a release order that he was to abide by.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

 

IPDA

On March 3, 2023 shortly after 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of an individual who was passed out due to intoxication at a business in the 800 block of Pacific Ave.  The 44-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Break and Enter

On March 3, 2023, police responded to a report of a break and enter to storage lockers in the basement of an apartment complex on Valcourt Way.  Suspects pried open 4 separate lockers sometime after February 28, 2023.  It is unknown if anything was taken.

Breach of the Peace

On March 23, 2023, shortly before 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence where individuals were fighting.  A 28-year-old male was found to be the cause of the issues so he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On March 3, 2023 shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female causing problems at a business in the 800 block of Pacific Ave.  She was found to be under the influence of illicit drugs, so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober to prevent her actions from continuing.

On March 4, 2023, shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  A 23-year-old male was fighting with his family.  AS he was intoxicated, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober to prevent the situation from escalating further.

 

Arrest Warrant

On March 3, 2023, police located and arrested a 19-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Attend Court, Possess Prohibited Weapon X2 and Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
