Since the former 8th Street Bridge structure was demolished in the summer of 2017, an active transportation/pedestrian corridor has been pursued as a replacement to connect the City of Brandon across the Canadian Pacific rail corridor. Based on feedback provided to City administration through numerous public consultation sessions and our online survey, various pedestrian bridge design options have been created and are ready to be viewed by members of the community.

What's Next in the Process?
Administration will be presenting a preferred concept to Council for their consideration to proceed with preliminary design. Preliminary design provides the City a "tool" to approach potential funding partners to make the bridge a reality. Any final commitment to complete detailed design and build the bridge will only be done when Council is satisfied they have the funding arrangements to do so.
