Mail in Ballot

 

A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply to vote by sealed envelope either in person, in writing or by email  to the Senior Election Official at Brandon Votes Office,  Civic Administration Building, 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, R7A 6A2, brandonvotes@brandon.ca.  The application must state the applicant's name, address and telephone number.  The application must also include legible copies of identification and a declaration of eligibility.  

A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the Senior Election Official.  If an application is received less than 12 days before the election, the voter may make alternative arrangements to have the ballot delivered to ensure that it can be returned by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.  

A person voting in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.

In order to be eligible to vote in an election, a person must be:

  • a Canadian citizen at least 18 years of age on election day; and
  • a resident of the local authority for at least six (6) months on Election Day.

 

Applications can be submitted starting September 27, 2023.  Deadline for applications is October 20, 2023.  Please contact the Senior Election Official to request an application or for more information.
