CITY OF BRANDON TO REQUIRE MASKS AT CIVIC FACILITIES

Brandon, MB – In light of additional health directives from Manitoba Shared Health, the City of Brandon will require citizens to wear face masks at its civic facilities, EFFECTIVE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2020 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Signage with instructions will be posted at the entrances of City of Brandon facilities. The City of Brandon will not be supplying masks to the public at civic facilities.

Please note that rather than attending civic facilities in person, the City of Brandon has a number of alternative service delivery options. A list can be found on the City’s website at https://www.brandon.ca/payment-options

As per the Manitoba Shared Health mandate, individuals in the Prairie Mountain Health region must:

  • Wear a mask in all indoor public places and at all public gatherings (indoor and outdoor).

  • Masks are mandatory on all public transit, including Handi-Transit.

  • Limit public gatherings to a maximum of 5 people indoors and outdoors.

  • It is strongly encouraged to limit contacts from outside one’s household.

  • Stay home when sick.

  • Follow public health guidance on travel and self-isolation.

  • Vulnerable people, such as seniors, are encouraged to exercise additional caution.

The City of Brandon would also like to remind the public to continue to practise social distancing, hand washing/sanitizing and cough etiquette.
