City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Services Code Orange Impacts

November 2, 2020

Brandon, MB – In response to the November 2nd Public Health Act Orders released by the Province of Manitoba, the following changes will be made to Parks & Recreation Services programs and facilities.

Brandon’s Community Sportsplex has updated their Return to Play Protocols.  Changes include a reduction to 25% capacity for spectator and change room areas.  Masks are required outside and inside of the facility, with the exception of those engaged in active play or as outlined in the Public Health Act Orders. The pool remains closed until the spring of 2021, due to recently identified mechanical issues, as announced last week.

The City of Brandon Youth Centre, located at 638 Princess Avenue is closed effective immediately and will remain closed until further notice.

In addition, the Park Community Centre public consultation events scheduled for November 5th have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.  The public survey will remain active until November 12th, and can be found here.

As a reminder, mandatory hand washing/sanitizing protocols, as well as physical distancing guidelines continue to be in place.
