Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Domestic Assault

On Saturday evening, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Driedger Bay. A man was outside the apartment kicking the door and was taken into custody. A woman at the residence reported she was drinking with her boyfriend when an argument started during which he punched her in the face. The man, a 37 year old from Brandon was lodged and later released to appear in court in June.

 

Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Just before 3:00 am on Sunday morning, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Pacific Ave. The female driver produced a drivers license that wasn’t hers and when questioned about it, she drove off. The officer pursued the vehicle but the driver refused to stop. The vehicle proceeded to the west end of the city, out of the city to Kemnay before returning to the city on Grand Valley Road. A tire deflating device was deployed however the driver continued to flee. The suspect eventually pulled into a driveway in the 1500 block of 3rd St and the driver was arrested.   A 34 year woman from Brandon was arrested and will appear in court on Sunday morning on charges of Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Public Mischief, Personation and Breach of a Release Order.
