Commercial Break, Enter, and Theft:

Just before 6:00 AM Friday morning a business located in the 1500 block Richmond Avenue East reported that their mechanical shop had been broken into sometime since 5:00 PM Thursday.  The suspects then made off with a 2010 grey GMC Sierra with AB license plate BTL9422, and approximately $20,000 in mechanical tools, including rolling tool cabinets.  The incident is still under investigation.

 

Unlawfully in Dwelling House:

A 35 year-old female was arrested in an apartment unit, in the 400 block 12th Street, that she had forced her way into on Friday afternoon.  The investigation revealed that no additional crime was intended or committed so she was arrested for being unlawfully in a dwelling house, and later released from Police custody.  She is scheduled to appear in court on January 10th.

 

Liquor Theft:

Just before 8:00 PM Friday evening, a 54 year-old male was arrested after stealing a bottle of liquor from a MLCC store.  Due to his level of intoxication, he was held in custody to sober up.  He is scheduled to appear in court on January 10th, facing one count of theft under $5000.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

A 19 year-old female was arrested in the 800 block Rosser Avenue on Friday evening on an outstanding arrest warrant for break and enter, and other charges.  Due to her level of intoxication, she was held in custody to sober up and will released later today with a court date of January 20th to answer to her charges.

At about 12:30 AM this morning, Police attended to a unit at 1440 Rosser Avenue in response to a complaint.  Upon attending, it was determined that the 20 year-old female caller was the subject of an arrest warrant held by the Portage la Prairie RCMP for kidnapping, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.  She was arrested on the strength of the warrant and will appear before the court today. 

A 37 year-old male was arrested during a traffic stop at about 2:40 AM this morning on the strength of two arrest warrants held by Winnipeg Police Service, for two counts of failing to comply with Probation Order, and failing to attend court.  The accused, who resides in Winnipeg, was subsequently released from custody on police imposed conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court in Winnipeg on February 8th.

Just before 6:00 AM this morning, a 23 year-old male was arrested for theft under $5000 on the strength of an arrest warrant.  He is being held in custody and will appear before the court later today.

 

Breaches of Court Orders:

Just after 9:00 PM Friday night, Police attended to a residence in the 300 block 7th Street regarding a trespassing complaint.  While there, a 30 year-old male was located and found to be not in compliance with conditions of a Probation Order he is currently bound by.  Due to his level of intoxication, he was held in custody to sober up.  He is scheduled to appear in court on January 10th.

A 46 year-old male was arrested and faces charges of failing to comply with a Release Order after members attended to his residence of record to conduct a curfew check and learned that he had moved from the address.  He was located a short time later at another address and brought into custody.  He will appear before the court later today.

While dealing with the above male, Police located another male at the residence, and a records query indicated that he is currently bound by an Undertaking with a curfew condition that he was not in compliance with.  This 32 year-old accused was also brought into custody and will appear before the court later today.

A 37 year-old male was located at about 4:15 AM this morning, just outside of the Police station.  A records query revealed the he is the subject of a Release Order with an included curfew condition that he was not abiding by.  He too was brought into custody.  He will appear before the court later today. 

 

Assault With a Weapon:

At about 12:50 AM this morning, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block Braecrest Drive for erratic driving.  The female driver was crying and visible injuries to her upper body.  A 27 year-old male passenger was arrested for assault with a weapon and returned to BPS.  Due to his level of intoxication, he was held in custody and will be released later today on appropriate police imposed conditions.  He is scheduled to appear in court on December 13th.
