Domestic Related Break, Enter, & Mischief:

Just before 6:00 AM Friday morning, a report was received from a female victim reporting that a former partner was attempting to force his way into her apartment. Police responded and located the 30 year-old male suspect in a vehicle that was seen leaving the area.  The male, who resides in Winnipeg, was arrested for break, enter, and committing mischief to property in relation to a patio door being shattered.  He was later released on appropriate Police imposed conditions to appear in court on December 19th.

 

Female Youths Charged for School Assault:

Two females, 14 and 17 years of age, were arrested and charged with assault relating back to an incident that occurred in October, and involved them assaulting another female youth.  All involved are students at the same Brandon high school and the incident is related to perceived insults perpetuated through social media.  The two accused were released on appropriate Police imposed conditions to appear in court on December 7th.

 

Domestic Related Assault:

A 28 year-old Brandon male was arrested and charged with assault as a result of an incident that occurred Friday morning, at about 8:30 AM at a Lorne Avenue East address.  Initially, the female victim declined to make a statement but later contacted Police to provide one.  As a result of the disclosure, the male was located and arrested.  He was released on appropriate Police imposed conditions to appear in court on January 10th.

 

Possession of a Weapon:

At about 4:20 PM Friday afternoon we received a report of a male, armed with a knife, chasing another male in the area of the 1600 block Park Avenue.  Responding members located the 41 year-old male suspect near 15th Street and College Avenue, stilled armed with a knife.  He refused to comply with Police commands to drop the weapon, and was confrontational with them.  An impact munition was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody.  He will be released from custody later today, on appropriate Police imposed conditions, facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest, and uttering threats. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 10th.

 

Breach of Court Order:

A 21 year-old female was operating a vehicle stopped by Police at approximately 3:20 AM this morning.  The accused was operating an unregistered vehicle, does not hold a valid driver’s license, and is bound by an Undertaking directing that she could not be in a motor vehicle without the owner being present.  As a result, she was issued multiple tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, and was arrested and released on scene for failing to comply with the condition of the Undertaking. She is scheduled to appear in Court on January 10th.
