Warrant of Arrest
On 2021/12/17 A highly intoxicated female attended to the Brandon Police Service as she had nowhere else to go. A CPIC check was conducted on her and she was found to be wanted for failing to attend court. The 36 year female from Winnipeg was lodged in police cells and will be released on appearance notice once sober.
Warrant – Assault by Choking
On 2021/12/17 a 21 year old male attended to the Brandon Police Service office as he believed there was a warrant for his arrest. A CPIC search was conducted and he was found to be wanted for assault by choking. The male subject from Brandon was lodged in cells and will appear for court on 2021/12/18.
Theft Motor Vehicle
On 2021/12/17 a 2006 Pontiac Torrent, four door silver in color, was stolen while parked in a parking lot in the 800 block of Victoria. On 2021/12/18 the RCMP from the Wasagaming Detachment reported they had located the vehicle in their area.
Breach of Peace
At approximately 1830 hrs police were called to 000 block of 9th St for a male who was highly intoxicated and refusing to leave the building. A 29 year old male from Brandon was unable to care for himself and had no one to look after him. He was lodged in cells to sober.
Domestic Assault
At approx. 2205 hrs police were at the Brandon Regional Hospital on an unrelated matter when a 29 year old male walked into the Emergency room bleeding badly from his left hand. The male stated that he was at a residence in the 400 block of 2nd Street and his girlfriend stabbed him. The investigation revealed that the male had been drinking at a residence and was blacking out. He grabbed a knife and started swinging it around. The girlfriend was able to get the knife away from him momentarily before he grabbed at the knife, cutting open his hand on the blade. He then assault the female trying to help him. The male subject from Brandon was taken into custody to sober prior to being released on an Undertaking. He will appear in court 2022/02/14 to answer to the charges of assault.
Warrant of Arrest (Fail to attend court) x2
While police were at the above mentioned residence in the 400 block of 2nd Street, a third occupant in the residence was check on CPIC and found to have a warrants for Fail to attend Court in Emerson Manitoba and Altona Manitoba. A 16 year old male subject from Brandon was released on scene with Appearance Notices to attend court in Emerson on 2022/02/28 and Altona on 2021/12/20.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. police were called to the 400 block of Rosser Avenue East for an intoxicated male subject who was causing a disturbance. Upon police arrival the male was located and showed signs of intoxication by alcohol and possibly drugs. The 38 year male from Brandon was taken into custody and lodged in cells to prevent further problems. He will be released from custody once sober.
