For the last 24 hours:

Arrest Warrants:

Late Friday afternoon, a traffic stop was conducted in the 600 block Brandon Avenue.  Two female occupants were arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants for arrest. A 20 year-old was arrested for robbery and held in custody to appear before the court this morning, while a 43 year-old was arrested for theft under $5000 and released at the scene to appear in court on September 29th.

Winnipeg Police Service arrested a thirty-two year-old male Friday night on the strength of a warrant for arrest held by BPS for assault and failing to comply with a Release Order.  He will appear before the court in Winnipeg this morning.

A 19 year-old male was arrested in relation to a bear-spray incident just after 3:00 AM this morning.  He was found to be the subject of an arrest warrant for failing to comply with a Release Order.  Additionally, he was charged with two new counts of failing to comply with a Release Order, possessing a weapon, and carrying a concealed weapon.  He was held in custody to appear before the court this morning.

A 40 year-old male was arrested by Swan River RCMP early this morning on the strength of a warrant for arrest held by BPS for break & enter and failing to attend court.  He was held to appear before the court this morning.

Breach of Court Order:

While investigating a fraud use of credit card complaint that occurred on July 17th, a review of video surveillance showed a male in the convenience store.  The investigating member recognized the male and knew that he was bound by a Release Order, which included a curfew that the male was not abiding by.  The officer attended to the suspect’s residence, located him, and arrested him failing to comply with the Release Order.  The 39 year-old accused will appear before the court this morning.

A 16 year-old male was located in the 200 block 8th Street this morning at around 2:40 AM.  He had been reported as a run-away from a group home earlier in the night, and was found to be breaching a Probation Order by not complying with the included curfew condition.  He was arrested for that offence, and later released to appear in court on October 11th.  He was turned over to staff from the group home, who reported a short time later that the youth had fled from them again.

Assault:

A 28 year-old male was arrested and later released on appropriate Police imposed conditions for assault, after slapping a male on the head.  The victim, an employee at a restaurant located in the 1900 block Richmond Avenue, had asked the accused to leave the property as he was bothering customers.  The accused is to appear in court on September 29th.
