Structure Fire – Residential Garage

On January 31, 2022 at 4:50 am, police responded with members of BFES to a report of a structure fire in the 1400 block of 2nd street.  The detached garage was fully engulfed in flames.  A nearby residence was evacuated as a precaution.  There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

 

Theft Under $5000/Possession of a Weapon

On January 30, 2022, employees of a business in the 900 block of 18th street N, police responded to a report of a female stealing merchandise.  Employees confronted the female, when a can of bear mace fell out of her bag.  The employees did not pursue the female, and police located and arrested her a short distance away in the washroom of another business.  The 30-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to comply with Undertaking.

 

Breach of Peace

On January 30, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave shortly after 6:00 pm.  Police located the 29-year-old male who had been swearing and acting out in the parking lot.  To prevent his actions from escalating, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.

On January 30, 2022 shortly after 12:00 pm, police responded to a report of two intoxicated individuals who were causing issues at a residence and had worn out their welcome.  Police arrested and lodged a 26-year-old male and a 21-year-old female until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 30, 2022, police located and arrested a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend.  He was later released and will appear in court on March 3, 2022.
