Disturbance – Suspects Arrested

On March 29, 2022, police responded to numerous witness reports of several individuals fighting in the 700 block of Rosser Ave at approximately 3:00 pm.  Witnesses reported the suspects were in possession of weapons.  Several individuals fled the area, but two were located and arrested nearby.

A 25-year-old male suspect was found to be in possession of a knife and a machete, contrary to conditions he was to abide by from a previous release order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon X2 and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

A 27-year-old female who was involved was also arrested; she was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Attend Court.  She was later released and will appear in court on May 9, 2022.

None of the individuals involved required medical attention.

 

Historical Sexual Assault

On March 2, 2022, police received a report of ongoing historical sexual abuse, which occurred in a residence between 2014 and 2015.  Investigation revealed that the now 42-year-old male suspect had assaulted two female children during that time.  The suspect was a family friend.

On March 29, 2022, the suspect was arrested.  He was later released, and will appear in court on June 6, 2022 on charges of Sex Assault X2, Sex Interference X2, and Invitation to Sexual Touching.

 

IPDA

On March 29, 2022, shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female yelling to herself in the area of 18th street and Louise Ave.  Police located the 23-year-old female, who was in no condition to care for herself, and there was nobody else to care for her.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 30, 2022, at approximately 3:30 am, police responded to a disturbance in a residence.  Police learned that the behavior of an intoxicated 28-year-old male in the home was causing concern for others there who were unable to prevent his disruptive behavior from continuing.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On March 29, 2022, police located and arrested a 37-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a small amount of Meth.  He was later released and will appear in court on April 14, 2022 with an additional charge of Possession of Meth.

On March 29, 2022, a 53-year-old male attended to Brandon Police Service, as he was aware of an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear.  He was later released to appear in court on April 25, 2022.

On March 29, 2022, police responded to a report of an individual causing problems at a business in the 000 block of 9th street by throwing items around at noon.  Police learned a 48-year-old male was the issue, and he was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a weapon.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On March 29, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On March 29, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.  He was later released and will appear in court on April 25, 2022.

On March 29, 2022, police located and arrested a 37-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  She was later released and will appear in court on June 6, 2022.
