Trafficking Fentanyl

On June 30, 2022, shortly before 2:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 6th street.  The driver, a 28-year-old female, was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. 

Following her arrest, further investigation with the assistance of a Police Service Dog revealed she was in possession of approximately 1.7 grams of Fentanyl.

The female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today  on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, as well as outstanding warrant charges of Fail to Comply with Probation, Theft Under $5000, and Fail to Appear in Court X2.

 

Assault Peace Officer

On June 30, 2022 at approximately 2:30 am, police responded to a report of a male who had worn out his welcome at a residence as he was attempting to fight others.  Police arrested the male, but he continued to struggle once in custody and proceeded to kick an officer and while threatening remarks. 

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on September 15, 2022 on charges of Resist Arrest, Assault Peace Officer and Uttering Threats.

 

Assault

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 8:30 am, police responded to a report of a male who followed an adult female in the area of the 800 block of 26th street.  The male approached the female and asked her if she wanted to buy some DVD’s before he grabbed her by the wrist.  The female managed to lose him before she contacted police.

On June 29, 2022, at approximately 11:30 am, police responded to a separate report of a male checking balconies in the area of the 1600 block of Sycamore Dr.  Police located and arrested the 29-year-old male who was found to be intoxicated.  Investigation revealed he was the same male from the above incident in the area of 26th street. 

He was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level and he will appear in court on September 12, 2022 on a charge of Assault.

 

Resist Arrest

On June 30, 2022 at approximately 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who was trying to get into vehicles in the 500 block of 12th street.  Police located the male and attempted to arrest him, but he took off running.  He wasn’t able to get far as police already had the area surrounded. 

Upon his arrest, he proved a false name and was found to be in possession of a knife.  When police learned his identity, he was found to be in breach of several orders.

The 33-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Resist Arrest, Fail to Comply with Release Order X4, Identity Fraud, and Carry Concealed Weapon.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On June 29, 2022 shortly before 10:00 am, police were in the area of the 800 block of 2nd street when they came across a 23-year-old male who was to abide by a condition not to attend the City of Brandon.  The male was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 25, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 29, 2022 shortly before 2:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who had just entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1500 block of 9th street, and stole money.  The victim followed the suspect on foot to a residence in the 400 block of 8th street where she was arrested by police.  The 20-year-old female was later released and will appear in court on August 25, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

IPDA

On June 29, 2022 at approximately 9:00 pm, police were dealing with a separate matter in the 3700 block of Willowdale Cres when they came across a highly intoxicated 62-year-old male.  The male was in no condition to care for himself, and he had nowhere to go.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 29, 2022, police located and arrested a 29-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Appear in Court and Fail to Comply with Probation.  She was later released to appear in court on August 2, 2022.
