Weapon Incident

On July 29, 2021, police responded to a report of a male who was brandishing both a handgun and a machete in the 600 block of Dennis Street, at approximately 9:30 pm.  There were several other individuals in the area at the time, but they had all fled prior to police arrival.  There were no reported injuries.

Investigation led police to a residential address where a male matching security footage images of the suspect was located and arrested.  He provided police with a false name.

Further investigation revealed his identity, and the fact that the 31-year-old male was to abide by conditions not to possess any weapon and to abstain from alcohol consumption.

He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Public Mischief, Fail to Comply with Release Order X2, and Fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Break and Enter and Theft of Vehicle

On July 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 1000 block of 8th street.  Suspects entered the home by cutting a screen and forcing a door between 10:00 pm on July 29 and 5:15 am on July 30. 

Once inside suspects took a set of keys, and then stole a 2013 blue KIA FORTE with Manitoba license HVG 510.  Also stolen was a laptop and credit cards.

Prohibited Driver

On July 29, 2021, police conducted a traffic stop at 1:00 pm in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave.  The driver was arrested for Drive While Prohibited.  He was later released to appear in court on October 21, 2021.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On July 29, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a storage building at a business in the 1000 block of 20th street.  Suspects entered the business compound up to several days prior, and forced a lock to one of the buildings.  Stolen was a Rigid table saw, a 40” Samsung TV and a 7 cubic ft. Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On July 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly before 2:00 am.  A 15-year-old male youth was found to be the cause of the problems, due to his intoxication.  He was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol. 

The youth was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 31, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On July 30, 2021, police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Delta Bay.  Police located an intoxicated 42-year-old male.  He was to abide by conditions not to consume and to abide by a 24-hour curfew.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 29, 2021, a 22-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant.  He appeared in court the same day on charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Robbery with Violence and Fail to Attend Court.

On July 29, 2021, police located and arrested a 40-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Probation.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On July 30, 2021, police located and arrested a 53-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possess Controlled Substance, and Fail to Appear.  He was later released to appear in court on October 21, 2021.
