Stolen Vehicle Recovered

At 3:40 a.m. Saturday police conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of 14th Street as a records query on the vehicles license plate showed that the plate was inactive. As the investigation continued it was found that the plate did not belong on the vehicle. A query by VIN showed the vehicle was reported stolen in Winnipeg on Jan 10th. A 34 year old male from Winnipeg was released to appear in court in Brandon in April. He faces charges of possession of stolen property as well as other charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

Other Arrests

  • A traffic stop at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue resulted in a resident from outside the city of Brandon being arrested, as he was in the vehicle with a female that he is prohibited from having contact with.  A 32 year old male will appear in court in April charged with failure to comply with a probation.
  • A traffic stop at 12:05 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue, resulted in a 39 year old female from Brandon being arrested on an outstanding warrant. She was processed and released to appear in court in March on charges of uttering a forged document and attempted fraud.
  • At 3:50 p.m. Friday, a 38 year old male from Brandon was arrested in the 300 block of 9th Street and found in possession of a controlled substance, contrary to a release order by which he is currently bound. He was released to appear in court in March for failure to abide by a release order.
  • At 6:45 p.m. Friday, police attended a disturbance within an apartment in the zero hundred block of 9th Street. A 48 year old male from Brandon who was intoxicated and fighting with others on site prior to police arrival was removed. He was detained in BPS cells overnight and will be released later in the day once sober.
  • At 8:10 p.m. Friday police attended to a call in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue to assist BFES. A 40 year old male from Brandon on scene was intoxicated, and with a female that he is currently on conditions to have no contact with.  He was detained in BPS cells overnight for release later today once sober. The male will appear in court in March, charged with failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking.
  • At 10:20 p.m. Friday, police were called to the 800 block of Pacific Avenue in response to a report that a female was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The 19 year old female from Saskatoon was held in cells overnight. She had expressed suicidal ideation while in police care, and she will be assessed by mental health professionals to determine her suitability for release. If she is determined to be in crisis, further supports will be made available to her prior to release.
  • At 8:45 p.m. Friday a 32 year old female from Brandon was arrested on an outstanding warrant of arrest in the 2200 block of Rosser Avenue, while police were in that area on another matter. She was released to appear in court in March, charged with failure to comply with probation and failure to appear in court.
  • At 11:50 p.m. Friday, police attended to a disturbance call within a residence in the 100 block of 10th Street. A 31 year old male from Brandon was intoxicated and the cause of the problems inside the suite. He was removed and lodged in BPS cells overnight, for release later today when sober.
  • At 2:25 a.m. Saturday, a 47 year old male from Brandon was arrested in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue on an outstanding warrant of arrest. The male was held in custody to appear before a Justice today, facing a charge of assault in relation to a prior incident against his girlfriend as well as one charge of failure to comply with a release order.
  • At 2:50 a.m. Saturday police attended to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 500 block of Princess Avenue. On location, police arrested and removed a 24 year old female who was intoxicated and responsible for the unrest in the home. The male remained on scene to provide continued care for the couple’s children who were present. The female was lodged in BPS cells and will be released later today when sober.
