Injury MVA, Blood Demand

At 10:55 p.m. Saturday, the operator of a motor vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 2000 block of Brandon Avenue. Officers arrived and took the 43-year-old female vehicle operator from Brandon into custody, as she showed signs of alcohol impairment.  She also displayed signs of physical injury because of the accident, and was medically cleared by BFES members on scene. Police then transported the female to BPS to obtain samples of her breath, however officers began to observe obvious signs that her physical condition appeared to be deteriorating. Officers then transported her to BRHC for medical assistance. At hospital, the female was left in the care of medical staff. Prior to officers leaving the hospital a demand for blood was made to her, and blood samples were obtained. A determination regarding any future charges will be made once the blood samples are analyzed, and the results of that analysis are received. This matter remains under investigation at this time.
