Possess Break-in Instruments

On September 27, 2022 at approximately 1:00 am, police received a report of a male in a back yard on Memorial Cres.  The male was looking in windows and trying door handles.  He was located in another yard nearby and arrested.  In his possession were several stolen items including a purse and 22 shells believed to have come from campers and vehicles in the area.   

The 25-year-old suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on December 5, 2022 on charges of Trespass at Night, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possess Break-in Instruments and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition.

 

Firearms Charges

On September 26, 2022, shortly after 10:00 am, police responded to a report of a male carrying a handgun in the 000 block of 9th street.  Police located and arrested the male who was found to be carrying a loaded BB handgun in his pocket.  The 31-year-old male was also bound by a Firearm Prohibition Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Possess Firearm Contrary to Prohibition X3.

 

Mischief to Property

On September 26, 2022 shortly before 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male wearing a wrestling mask hitting things with a baseball bat while in Princess Park.  Police located and arrested the male nearby after he briefly fled on foot.  The 31-year-old male was later released to appear in court on November 28, 2022 on charges of Mischief to Property Under $5000 and Resist Arrest.

 

Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

On September 26, 2022, at 5:30 pm, police responded to a report of a male pacing outside a business in the 300 block of 10th street while carrying a chainsaw.  The male was waving the chainsaw around while people were trying to access the business.  Police arrested the 53-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Police Service.  He will be released in the morning to appear in court on November 28, 2022 on a charge of Possession of a Weapon.

 

IPDA

On September 26, 2022 shortly after 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a female in the middle of the roadway of the 400 block of 12th street while crying.  Police located the 23-year-old female who was intoxicated and in no condition to care for herself.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of the Peace

On September 26, 2022 at approximately 8:30 pm, police responded to a report of a male hiding in a yard.  Witnesses report that he had previously appeared to be attempting to gain access to a truck.  Police located the 42-year-old male and arrested him.  To prevent his actions from continuing, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service until morning.

 

Arrest Warrants

On September 26, 2022 shortly after 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male and female arguing in the 900 block of 9th street shortly after 9:00 pm.  Police located the 24-year-old female, but the male had left the area.  Police learned she was wanted on outstanding charges of Mischief Under $5000 and arrested her.  She was later released to appear in court on November 21, 2022.

On September 26, 2022, a 35-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service, as she was aware she was wanted on outstanding charges.  She was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday on charges of Fail to Attend Court.
