Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

On May 26, 2021, members of BPS Operational Support and Crime Suppression Unit executed a search warrant to a residence in the 300 block of 1st street following an investigation into illicit drug trafficking.

Located and seized in the search was 13.5 oz. of Methamphetamine, valued at approximately $20,000, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.  Police also seized a collection of knives and two cans of bear mace.

Arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service was an 18-year-old male.  He will appear in court today on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Fail to Comply with Release Order, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, and Possession of Prohibited Weapon.

Assault with a Weapon

On May 26, 2021 at approximately 9:30 pm, police responded to a report of a fight near 6th street and Hill Ave.  Witness reported seeing the suspects with shovels and tire irons.  Investigation revealed that two 18-year-old males had assaulted a 36-year-old male who required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries he received. 

The two males turned themselves into police and were arrested.  They were later released to appear in court on June 29, 2021 on charges of Assault with a Weapon.

 

Break and Enter to Garages

On May 26, 2021, police responded to a break and enter to residential garage on Linden Blvd.  Suspects gained entry by forcing an overhead door at approximately 1:00 am.  Stolen was an older model bicycle. 

On May 26, 2021, police responded to a break and enter to a residential garage on Juniper Bay.  Suspects entered overnight through an unlocked side door.  Stolen were some tools, many of which were located in a basket a short distance away.

Assault

On May 26, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault near 1st street and Kirkaldy Drive at approximately 8:30 pm.  Police located the individuals involved nearby.  Investigation revealed that during an argument, the 28-year-old male bit the victim and grabbed them by the neck.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on July 29, 2021 on a charge of Assault.  The victim did not require medical attention.

 

IPDA

On May 27, 2021, shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the 3300 block of Victoria Ave.  A 28-year-old male was located and was in no condition to care for himself.  As he had nobody to care for him, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On May 26, 2021, police located and arrested a 29-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on July 29, 2021.
