Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Break and Enter

Two trailers were broken into inside a compound in the 900 block of Richmond Ave E.  Copper wire and other items were stolen

Aggravated Assault, Arrest warrant executed.

The male suspect in the stabbing that occurred on Christmas Day was located early on the morning of December 27th.  A male failed to pay a taxi fare at a residence in the 100 block of 8th St.  When officers arrived, the male was identified as the suspect in the stabbing.  A 25 year old man from Brandon was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Robbery with Violence and breaching several court orders. He was lodged and will appear in court on Dec 27th.

Robbery

At 4:00 am on Dec 27th, a 911 call was received from a convenience store in the 700 block of 10th Sat.  A hold up alarm activation from the same store was also received.   When officers arrived, a male suspect was observed assaulting the female store clerk.  The suspect was arrested and lodged to appear in court.  The suspect entered the store and went behind the counter where he filled a bag with cigarettes. The store clerk tried to stop him and was punched in the face several times.  The suspect continued to assault the clerk by kicking her in the stomach.  A customer who was in the store tried to stop the assault.  The victim suffered injuries to her face and was treated at Brandon Regional Hospital

Other Arrests

A 34 year old man was arrested on a warrant for Theft Under and Failing to Attend Court. He was released to appear in court in February.

A 29 year old woman was arrested on a warrant for Possession of Property obtained by Crime.  She was release with a court date in February.  

A 20 year old man was arrested on a warrant for Failing to Comply with an Appearance notice as well as a charge of Mischief under $5000.  The man attended a reside in the 100 block of 15th St and was denied entry so he broke a window. He was lodged and later released with a court date in February.

Two men were lodged for Breach of Peace.
