Theft of Motor Vehicle – Suspect Arrested

On October 26, 2021 at approximately 2:00 am, police responded to a report of the theft of a motor vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the suspect, a 25-year-old male, stole the keys from the vehicle owner, with whom he was an acquaintance.  The suspect then drove the vehicle to the area of 1st street and Van Horne Ave, where it was recovered.  He was located and arrested a short distance away. 

He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Operate Conveyance while prohibited, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

On October 25, 2021, police responded to a report of witnesses observing a gun exchange in the area of the 000 block of Willowdale Cres shortly after 3:00 pm.  Further investigation revealed that the suspect, a 38-year-old male received a rifle from an acquaintance, in spite of not having a Possession Acquisition License.  The male was also to have no communication with the individual who gave him the rifle.

The male turned himself in to police peacefully shortly after 6:00 pm and surrendered the rifle.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on December 30, 2021 on charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession to Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 25, 2021, police located and arrested a 36-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Sex Offender Information Registry Act.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 25, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female who was causing problems at a business in the 800 block of Lorne Ave shortly before 10:00 am.  The female left the business but she continued to call police throughout the rest of the morning for no particular reason before attending Brandon Police Service on her own while consuming alcohol.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and will be served a fine under the LGCCA.

On October 25, 2021, police responded to a report of a male who was being belligerent towards employees in a business in the 1500 block 1st street shortly after 10:00 pm.  Employees observed the male in possession of a number of syringes, and claim he would not leave the business when requested.  Police arrested the 29-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On October 25, 2021 at approximately 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male destroying property in his home, including a window, TV, and scattering garbage.  Others in the residence were unable to prevent his behavior from continuing.  The 22-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until morning.

 

IPDA

On October 25, 2021, police observed a male pedestrian walking in and out of traffic in the 900 Pacific Ave at approximately 8:30 pm.  The 27-year-old male was found to be intoxicated and in no condition to care for himself.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
