Break Enter and Theft

At 9:30 Saturday morning, police received a call from a business in the 50 block of 13th St East, indicating that someone had broken into their garden shed.  The break in occurred in the 24 hours previous to the report being made, and the caller stated a push mower was stolen from the shed. The matter is still under investigation.

 

Break Enter and Theft   

At 10:30 Saturday morning, a complaint of a break in to a residence in the 200 block of 4th St was reported.  The resident stated sometime between 11 PM and 1 AM, their home was entered through an unlocked front door while they were in the back yard.  The suspect(s) stole a Lenovo laptop computer and fled.  The break in is still under investigation.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

At 1210 PM Saturday afternoon, police were called to a business to assist in removing an uncooperative patron.  Members attended and located the 35 year old female while escorting her off the property it was determined that she is the subject o an outstanding warrant of arrest from the Winnipeg Police Service, for theft under $5000.  She was arrested on the strength of the warrant.   She has since been released, with a court date of October 26 in Winnipeg.

 

Structure Fire

At approx. 5:30 AM Saturday, emergency crews were called to the 000 block of 16th St for a structure fire.  The fire appeared to have started at the rear of the vacant building.  Police cordoned of the area while BFES worked to contain and extinguish the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  The building is vacant and the owner has indicated he has been awaiting approval for demolition.  

 

Prohibited Driving

At approx. 9:05 PM Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Park Ave.  The 41-year-old male driver was found to be prohibited from driving Canada wide, as well as the subject of an outstanding warrant for driving while prohibited and failing to attend for court. The Brandon man was arrested and has since been released with a court date of August 23.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

At approx. 12:25 AM today, officers checked a pedestrian in the 1100 block of 18th St.  The 31-year-old male is currently bound by a daily curfew, which he is not adhering to.  He was arrested and held until sober.  He will be released later today with a court date of September 23.

 

Break and Enter

At 10:25 PM Saturday, police were called to a residence in the 200 block of 13th St.  The caller stated and male and female had just broken into their residence.  The male had fled but the female was still there.  Members attended and located the 23-year-old Brandon female, laying on a bed within the residence.  She was arrested for break and enter, and has since been released with a court date of September 20.  At this point the male has still not been identified.

 

Other Arrests:

  • 2 males were arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service from separate incidents.  One was held under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.  The second for breach of the peace, from an incident where he was causing a disturbance in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.
