Break and Enter
On Friday afternoon police received a report of a break and enter to an apartment in the 800 block of Richmond Ave. The tenant had left the residence in the early morning and returned late afternoon to find it had been entered, and a number of items were including a computer a bike and some alcohol had been stolen. The matter is still under investigation.
Domestic Assault
At approx. 2:00 PM Friday police were called to the area of 13th and Lorne Ave, for a male that was reportedly assaulting a female. Officers attended and arrested the 29-year-old male for assaulting his girlfriend. The accused was later released with a court date of July 27th.
At 5:00 PM Friday, police were called to the area of Cornell Bay for male that had assaulted his girlfriend. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival however he was located in the 1500 block of 2nd St a few minutes later. He was arrested and held in custody until sober. The 33-year-old male from Pipestone was released early Saturday morning with a court date of July 27th, charged with common assault.
Fail to Comply with a Release Order
At 6:40 PM Friday evening, during a patrol of the 300 block of 10th St, an officer noticed a 17-year-old female who he knew to be on a court order not to attend to Brandon. The female was stopped and the court order was confirmed resulting in her arrest. The youth was held until a family member could drive to Brandon to get her. She will be required to attend court on July 7th on the charge of failing to comply with a release order.
At 11:45 PM officers checked a male who was sleeping on a bench in the 900 block of Rosser Ave. The 27 year old Brandon male was found to be the subject of a 9 PM – 7 AM court ordered curfew. As he was out past 9 PM he was arrested and held in custody and will be released Saturday morning with a court date of July 6th.
