Update: Keystone Grounds Assault - Additional Arrest: Assault Cause Bodily Harm

 

On March 23, 2021, police arrested an additional male for his involvement into the assault.  The 16-year-old youth will appear in court on June 7, 2021 on a charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm.

Previous release from March 23, 2021-

On March 16, 2021, police received a report of an assault between multiple individuals, which occurred in the evening on the Keystone Centre Grounds.  One of the individuals involved received injuries, which required medical treatment.

An investigation into the incident revealed an ongoing feud between those involved. 

Police have charged two individuals.  On Friday March 19, police arrested a 16-year-old male youth for Uttering Threats.  He will appear in court on June 6, 2021.  On Monday March 22, 2021, police arrested an 18-year-old male.  He will appear in court on June 7, 2021 on a charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm. 

The investigation remains ongoing.  Police would like to thank the many individuals who have come forward with information on this matter.

 

Mischief to Property

On March 23, 2021, shortly before 11:00 am, while an officer was involved in a separate matter in the 100 block of McTavish Ave E, they became aware of a disturbance nearby.  A 29-year-old male was causing damage to property by punching holes into walls.  He was arrested and released to appear in court on June 14, 2021 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

 

Assault at Brandon Correctional Centre

On March 23, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred at Brandon Correctional Centre between male inmates.  The victim received only minor injuries, which did not require any medical attention.  

The 40-year-old male suspect was arrested and will appear in court this morning on a charge of Assault and Utter Threats.  They both remain in custody at BCC.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On March 23, 2021 shortly after 6:00 pm, police attended to a residence as homeowners reported an unwanted individual on their doorstep, causing a disturbance.  The 25-year-old female suspect was to abide by conditions not to be at that address.  She was arrested and released to appear in court on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking on May 25, 2021.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On March 22, 2021, shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 15-year-old male youth who left his residence despite having to abide by a curfew.  The youth returned in the evening on March 23, 2021 and was arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to comply with Undertaking.

 

Theft Under $5000

On March 23, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the Corral Centre.  The 36-year-old female suspect left the business with a cart full of items valued over $600. 

An employee followed her out of the business and then retrieved all the merchandise.  The suspect left the area, but she also left her wallet and ID in the shopping cart, which was used to identify her. 

Police later attended to her residence and arrested her.  She was released to appear in court on June 17, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 23, 2021, at approximately 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  The behavior of the 27-year-old male in the home was escalating to the point where others were unable to keep him safe.  The male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
