Theft Under $5000

On June 23, 2022, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 100 block of Victoria Ave E at approximately 5:30 pm.  Employees followed the male suspect to the area of Rideau Park until police arrived. 

Once police were there, the suspect threw the basket of merchandise at them and ran away.  Police watched as he grew tired a short distance away, where they arrested him.  The stolen items were returned to the business.

The 27-year-old male was later released to appear in court on August 8, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Structure Fire

On June 24, 2022, at 4:06 am, police responded with members of BFES to a residential shed on fire in the 700 block of 10th street.  The shed was fully engulfed, and a total loss; however, it did not spread to any other structures as the fire was extinguished by BFES.  There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and police continue to investigate.

 

Disturbance

On June 23, 2022 shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  A 39-year-old male had attended to the home where he was unwelcome and proceeded to yell.

Investigation revealed he was to abide by conditions not to have any contact with one of the residents.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.

One of the residents was found to be the subject of 17 outstanding charges including Fail to Attend Court.  The 21-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

 

Arrest Warrants

On June 23, 2022, police located and arrested a 25-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court on August 22, 2022.

On June 23, 2022, police located and arrested a 39-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On June 24, 2022, police located and arrested a 29-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault and Assault by Choking.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
