Forcible Confinement

On December 24, 2021, at approximately 2:30 am, police responded to a report of an assault at a business in the 300 block of 18th street N.  Investigation revealed that a male suspect assaulted the victim while holding them to the floor, and refusing to allow them to leave.  The victim received minor injuries that required medical attention. 

The 21-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault Forcible Confinement and fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Possess Weapon/ Possess Stolen Property

On December 23, 2021 shortly after 6:00 pm, police responded to a report of two individuals in a multi-unit dwelling.  Both individuals were to abide by conditions not to attend the address.  Upon their arrest, police located a machete and several stolen debit cards and a cheque book in their possession.  They were later released. 

The 38-year-old male will appear in court on February 17, 2022 on a charge of Fail to comply with Undertaking, and the 23-year-old female will appear in court on March 21, 2022 on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Possess Weapon and Possess Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Mischief to Property Under $5000

On December 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance outside a residence at approximately 5:30 pm.  Investigation revealed that following an argument, a 37-year-old male keyed a vehicle and left.  He was later located and arrested.  He was released to appear in court on February 17, 2022 on a charge of Mischief to Property Under $5000.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On December 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a vehicle theft from the 400 block of 14th street at approximately 3:00 pm.  The owner’s personal belongings were left in the vehicle including the keys and a cell phone, which allowed the vehicle location to be tracked.  It was located a short time later, parked unattended in the area of 16th street N. and Maple Ave.

Break and Enter

On December 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 400 block of 13th street.  Suspects gained access to the storage area of the residence by forcing a door overnight.  It is unknown if anything was taken.

Break and Enter to Residence

On December 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to the management area of an apartment building in the 500 block of 3rd street.  At approximately 2:00 pm, the suspect forced their way into the building and into a secure area where they tampered with electrical equipment.

Breach of Peace

On December 23, 2021 shortly after 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of a fight at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street.  An intoxicated male entered the business and was immediately confrontational with everyone including employees.  Employees held him until police arrived.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  He will receive a fine under the LGCCA for Disorderly Conduct in a Licensed Premise.

 

Breach of Peace

On December 24, 2021 shortly before 4:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  An intoxicated 43-year-old female was acting out and others in the residence were unable to prevent her actions from escalating.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober.

On December 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence shortly after 11:00 am.  An intoxicated 26-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober, to prevent her actions from escalating.

 

IPDA

On December 23, 2021, at approximately 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the area of the 3500 block of Willowdale Cres.  The male had nobody to care for him and he was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
