Use of stolen Credit Card

On October 22, at approx. 10:00 pm, police received a report that a male and female were ringing a doorbell to a house in the 1100 blk Dennis St. Police attended and the male ran off. It was determined the female was not causing any problems and she was sent on her way. The Police Service Dog located the male suspect in the 100 block Queens Ave E. He was taken into custody as there was a warrant for his arrest. The suspect was identified as a person who used a stolen credit card in a separate incident. He was also on two Undertakings where he is bound by curfew and residency conditions. He was held in custody to appear this morning on charges of Fraud use of credit card, and fail to comply with Undertaking.

Police Pursuit

On October 23 at approx. 1:30 am, Police attempted to stop a small, black Chev car travelling south at a high rate of speed, in the 700 block 18th St. Police activated emergency equipment and began following the vehicle. The vehicle drove through the red light at the Park Ave intersection, and continued southbound. The pursuit continued south on #10, RCMP were notified. There was very little traffic on the road at that time. A short time later the vehicle pulled over and stopped. The driver was arrested and it was determined that he was sober. During the pursuit speeds reached over 150 km/h. The 19 year old driver was released to appear in court on December 16 on charges of Dangerous operation of MV, Flight while pursued by police, Unlawful transportation of liquor Drive w/o valid License and Disobey traffic control device.

 

Break & Enters

In the early morning hours of October 23, a shed was entered in the 800 blk 17th St. It is believed the shed door was unlocked as there were no signs of forced entry. Some of the items stolen were recovered by a dumpster in the back alley.

Sometime overnight October 22, suspects entered the porch of a house in the 700 26th St. They stole a purse containing a variety of items, including the keys to a vehicle. Suspects then took the vehicle. It was later recovered near Portage.

Sometime overnight October 22, suspects entered a house under construction on 26th St. Nothing appears stolen but the suspects left garbage behind.

Sometime during the day on October 22, suspects entered the porch of a house in the 100 blk 21st St. and stole several pairs of shoes.

Other arrests

On October 22 at approx. 5:30 am, a 29 year old male was arrest as he was causing some problems in the 500 13th St. He was held for a few hours then released.

On October 22 at approx. 1:10 pm, a 32 year old female was causing problems at the hospital. Police attended and located the female. She appeared high on drugs. She was arrested, held and released later.

On October 22 at approx. 1:30 pm, three people were seen checking vehicles in a parking lot by #1 Hwy. Police attended the area and with the help of some citizens located the suspects behind another business. All three subjects had outstanding warrants for their arrest. Arrested and held for court in the morning, were a 30 year old male and a 25 year old female. The other 23 year old male was issued an appearance to attend court on December 16.

On October 22 at approx. 5:50 pm, police located an intoxicated 43 year old male in the 600 blk Van Horne Ave. He had no one to care for him. He was arrested and lodged.
