Aggravated Assault – Suspect in Custody

On June 22, 2021, at 3:18 pm, a 26-year-old female was stabbed by another female following a fight in the 000 block of 9th street. 

Members of BPS Major Crime Unit happened to be in the immediate area during the assault and the suspect was arrested on scene.

Police provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived to transport her to hospital.  The victim remains in the hospital with serious injuries.  The most recent update on her condition was that she is in stable condition.

The 33-year-old female suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On June 22, 2021, police observed a male riding an adult sized tricycle in the 100 block of 7th street at approximately noon.  The male fled from police but was stopped a short distance away. 

Investigation revealed that the tricycle had been reported stolen from a break and enter in the 500 block of 15th street.  The 38-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 13, 2021 on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  The tricycle will be returned to the owner.

 

Possess Prohibited Weapon

On June 22, 2021, shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of individuals throwing rocks at passing vehicles in the 600 block of Princess Ave.  A 21-year-old male located in the area was found to be in possession of bear mace.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released today to appear in court on September 16, 2021 on a charge of Possess Prohibited Weapon.

 

Breach of Peace

On June 22, 2021, shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a fight in the 2300 block of Louise Ave.  When police arrived, multiple individuals fled the area.  One involved individual who remained at the scene, a 16-year-old female, was intoxicated.  To prevent further escalation of any disturbance, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On June 23, 2021 at 2:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  An intoxicated 28-year-old female was found to be the cause of the problems.  To prevent her actions from escalating she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On June 23, 2021 shortly before 5:00 am, police responded to a disturbance at a business in the 700 block of 10th street.  An intoxicated 19-year-old female was found to be the cause of the problems.  To prevent her actions from continuing, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On June 22, 2021, police located and arrested a 36-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court and Theft Under $5000.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared in court later in the day.

On June 22, 2021, a 35-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding arrest warrant.  The male was lodged and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Proceeds of Crime, Fail to Attend Court and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X2.

On June 22, 2021 shortly before 11:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Rosser Ave.  One of the passengers was found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.  The 34-year-old female was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 23, 2021 on a charge of Fail to comply with Undertaking.

On June 23, 2021, shortly before 1:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Bell Ave and Highland Ave.  A 29-year-old female was found to be the subject of an arrest warrant.  She was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 16, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.
