Police K-9 track leads to suspect arrest following Assault with a Weapon

On December 22, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault at an apartment building shortly after 10:00 am.  Investigation revealed that a maintenance employee working at the building was assaulted by two individuals following a confrontation.  The suspects were not tenants of the building.  One of the suspects shoved the employee while the other used a frozen pop bottle to strike them. 

The suspects left the building on foot, but were located and arrested following a track with police K-9.  The victim did not require medical attention.

The 38-year-old male suspect was later released to appear in court on February 17, 2022 on a charge of Assault.  The 23-year-old female suspect was later released to appear in court on February 17, 2022 on a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

 

Abduction in Contravention to a Custody Order

On December 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a parental abduction of two children from their home in Brandon, Manitoba. 

Investigation revealed the two children were in their residence in the early morning hours of December 18, 2021, when their father entered the residence and took them, contrary to a custody order. 

On December 22, 2021, upon learning of a warrant in place for his arrest, the 35-year-old male returned the children to Child and Family Services an attended to Brandon Police Service to face his charges.  The children were healthy and unharmed upon their return.  The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Abduction in Contravention of Custody Order and Utter Threats.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested

On December 22, 2021, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the 2200 block of Pacific Ave shortly after 10:00 am.  Police located the vehicle and arrested the suspect in the 300 block of 6th street shortly before 1:00 pm.

The 21-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

 

Breach of Peace

On December 22, 2021, at approximately 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a business in the 1500 block of 18th street who would not leave when asked to by employees.  The suspect’s escalating behavior was causing concern.  Police arrested and lodged the 29-year-old male at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On December 22, 2021 at approximately 9:30 pm, police responded to a report of an unwelcome intoxicated female at a residence.  The 35-year-old female had been told the day prior that she was not welcome, but she returned anyway.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On December 22, 2021, shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of an unwanted intoxicated female at a residence.  She would not leave when asked by the residents and was causing problems for them.  Police arrested and lodged the 46-year-old female until sober.

On December 23, 2021, at approximately 2:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a residence.  Family were unable to prevent his disruptive actions from escalating.  The 19-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

 On December 22, 2021, police located and arrested a 23-year-old male on outstanding charges of Break and Enter.  He was later released and will appear in court on February 28, 2021.
