Motor Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collison

On October 21, 2021, at 7:07 am, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at the intersection of 18th street and Louise Ave.  The 50-year-old female pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries.  The intersection was closed to traffic until 8:32 am while traffic investigators processed the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 74-year-old male was issued a fine under the Highway Traffic Act for Fail to Yield Right of Way to a Pedestrian at a Pedestrian Corridor.

 

Police Search Residence following Firearm Complaint

On October 21, 2021, shortly after 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an individual pointing a handgun towards other people, from a residence on Confederation Bay. 

Police contained the residence in an effort to have the occupants exit safely, prior to conducting a search of the residence.  Traffic and pedestrian traffic in the area was re-routed as a precaution until police were satisfied that all the residents had exited the residence just prior to 4:30 pm. 

No handgun was located following the search of the home, and no charges were laid. 

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On October 21, 2021, police located and arrested a male who was in breach of his release conditions for failing to sign in at BPS as directed.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Disobey Court Order

On October 22, 2021 shortly after midnight, police responded to a male who was outside the residence of an individual with whom he was to have no communication.  As police were escorting the 35-year-old male from the building, he attempted to run from them, but was apprehended.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Disobey Court Order and Resist Arrest.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 22, 2021, at 3:30 am, police responded to a report of a male and female arguing in the area of 6th street and Lorne Ave.  Police located the individuals and learned that the 25-year-old male involved was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Appear in Court.  He was later released to appear in court on November 25, 2021.

On October 21, 2021 at noon, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1900 block of Queens Ave as the license plates had expired.  Police learned that the driver, a 19-year-old male was wanted on outstanding charges of Mischief Under $5000 and Utter Threats.  He was released following his arrest to appear in court on January 27, 2022.

On October 21, 2021, police located and arrested a 33-year-old female who was wanted on a Parole Suspension Warrant.  She was transported to Winnipeg Remand Centre where she was lodged.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a fight at a residence at 7:30 am.  Both individuals involved were intoxicated.  Others in the residence were unable to prevent the actions of the 26-year-old female who was involved from escalating.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
