Identity Fraud

On March 22, 2022, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 20th street shortly before 4:00 am.  Police observed open alcohol in the vehicle, and the lone occupant was arrested. 

Investigation further revealed that the male had provided police with identification that was not his own, and he was in possession of several documents bearing the same name of another individual.  The male was also in possession of 3.5 grams Cocaine.

Police were able to identify the 32-year-old male, who was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Public Mischief, and Identity Fraud X3.

 

Possession of Meth

On March 21, 2022, police responded to a report of unwanted individuals in a residence shortly after 6:00 am.  The homeowner was concerned for her safety.  Police arrested a 25-year-old male who was in possession of a small amount of Meth, a CO2 gun and some ammunition.  The male was to abide by conditions not to be in possession of any ammunition. 

He was later released to appear in court on May 16, 2022 on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation and Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order. 

 

Break and Enter to Business

On March 21, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 1500 block of Victoria Ave.  The suspect entered the business shortly after 12:00 am by forcing a locked door.  Once inside they stole a variety of items including a chrome plated communion goblet.

Break and Enter to Residence

On March 21, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 1000 block of 4th street.  Suspects gained entry by prying open a door overnight.  It is unknown if anything was stolen at this time.

Structure Fire – Business storage shed

On March 22, 2022, police responded with members of BFES to a structure fire in the 1400 block of 1st street shortly before 2:00 pm.  The fire was contained to a storage building behind the main business.  The cause of the fire has not been determined and does not appear to be suspicious.

 

Structure Fire – Residence

On March 21, 2022 at approximately 3:30 pm, police responded to a report of a structure fire to a residence in the 800 block of 19th street.  All residents were evacuated safely and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire has not been determined and does not appear to be suspicious.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On March 21, 2022, police responded to a report of a vehicle theft.  The 2020 grey Honda Pilot was parked in a parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of 18th street between 2:40 pm and 5:45 pm when it was stolen.  It has a Saskatchewan Licence plate of 198 LVW.

Breach of Peace

On March 22, 2022, shortly after midnight, police responded to a 911 call.  The caller indicated that someone was trying to shoot her.  Investigation revealed that the 23-year-old female caller was alone, that nobody was trying to shoot her, and that she was hallucinating due to recent meth use.  She was unable to care for herself while she was under the influence.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On March 22, 2022 shortly after 1:00 am, while police were dealing with a separate matter, they located and arrested a 20-year-old male who was not complying with his curfew.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Arrest Warrant

On March 21, 2022, a 34-year-old male attended to the Brandon Court House to turn himself in.  He was wanted on outstanding charges of Aggravated Assault.  Once arrested he was held in custody to appear in court that day.
