Theft Under $5000

On March 21, 2021, police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a business compound in the 800 block of on 49 street E at approximately 11:00 pm.  Police located an unoccupied unauthorized vehicle within the compound prompting a search of the area with the assistance of Police K-9. 

Police K-9 located the two suspects who were hiding.  Following their arrests, further investigation led police to discover they were in possession of a small quantity of Meth, property they were attempting to steal from the business and break in instruments. 

A 49-year-old male will appear in court on June 10, 2021 on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Meth.  A 22-year-old male will also appear in court on June 10, 2021 on charges of Possession of Break-in Instruments, and Possession of Meth.

 

Driving While Ability Impaired

On March 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an individual who was passed out in a vehicle in the 200 block of 10th street E. shortly before 7:00 am.  The vehicle was running, and the male had left his foot on the pedal as the engine was revving. 

The 30-year-old male in the driver’s seat was arrested as he showed signs of impairment.  He provided samples of his breath more than twice the legal limit.  He was later released to appear in court on March 25, 2021 on charges of Drive while ability Impaired, Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

 

Assault / Possess Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order

On March 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in progress in a residence shortly after 6:00 pm as neighbors could hear yelling and screaming.

Police investigation revealed that a 34-year-old male suspect had assaulted the victim, who did not require medical attention.

Further investigation revealed the suspect was also found to be in possession of operational stun guns contrary to his weapons prohibition order.

The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service following his arrest and will appear in court today on charges of Assault, Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order X3 and Fail to Comply with Release Order X 3.

 

Theft of Motor Vehicle

On March 22, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of a motor vehicle from the 700 block of 1st street at approximately 2:25 am. 

The suspect, a 15-year-old male youth, knew the owner of the vehicle had access to the keys.

Once the youth arrived at his destination and parked the vehicle, he told the owner where to find it.  The vehicle was recovered, and the youth was later arrested.  He will appear in court on May 18, 2021 on a charge of Theft of Motor Vehicle.

 

IPDA

On March 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a male who was harassing patrons in the area of the Corral Centre shortly after 7:00 pm.  The 26-year-old male was located and found to be intoxicated.  He had nowhere to go and no one to watch over him, so he was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On March 21, 2021, just before midnight, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who had entered a residential porch and was banging on the door.  The homeowner did not know the male.  The 33-yar-old male was intoxicated and had nowhere to stay.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
