Assault Peace Officer

On June 21, 2022 at approximately 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who had just stolen merchandise from a business in the 800 block of 18th street. 

Employees watched the female proceed to a vehicle before attempting to drive away when she struck a parked vehicle.  The owner of the parked vehicle attempted to speak with the female suspect, but she assaulted him several times.

When police arrived and attempted to arrest the female, she resisted and assaulted one of the officers several times before she was placed in custody.

Neither the officer nor the owner of the parked vehicle required medical attention because of the assaults.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle she was driving had recently been stolen from the 900 block of 1st street. 

The 27-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  She will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000, Assault Peace Officer, Resist Arrest, Assault, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2.  She will also receive several fines under the Highway Traffic Act.

 

Assault Cause Bodily Harm

On June 21, 2022 shortly after 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault in the 800 block of Pacific Ave.

Upon police arrival to the scene, a 29-year-old female was found with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  She was transported to the hospital via ambulance to be treated.

Investigation revealed that following a disagreement between the victim and a 30-year-old male suspect, he assaulted her by choking her.  During the struggle, the victim ended up on the ground and the suspect continued to assault her by stomping on her head and body.

Police located the suspect at his home and arrested him without incident.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Assault by Choking.

 

Mischief to Property Under $5000

On June 21, 2022, police responded to a report of a former tenant throwing a rock through a window of the residence where he used to live in the 500 block of 12th street shortly after 11:00 am.  The male also damaged windows of six other homes in the area as well as two vehicles.

Shortly after 3:00 pm, police located and arrested the 30-year-old male who was to abide by a 24-hour curfew.  He was also breaching several other conditions.

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on charges of Mischief Over $5000 X8, and Fail to comply with Release Order X4.

 

Arrest Warrants

On June 21, 2022, shortly before 2:00 pm, police located a 22-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order in the 300 block of 1st street.  The female fled on foot from officers but she was apprehended in the 200 block of 4th street.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order and Resist Arrest.

On June 21, 2022, police located and arrested a 61-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court on August 18, 2022.
