Assault with Weapon/Dogs injured

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault with bear mace at a residence in the 600 block of Van Horne at approximately 12:38 pm.  Two male suspects sprayed inside of the residence with the mace and assaulted the homeowner’s two dogs by cutting them.

The homeowner went to a neighbour for assistance when the two suspects fled.

Animal control transported both dogs to a vet for non-life-threatening injuries.  The homeowner declined any medical attention.

Police continue to investigate this assault.

 

Attempt Break and Enter

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an attempted break and enter in the 900 block of 3rd street.  Overnight, the suspect attempted to force their way into the residential garage using a screwdriver, which was left behind. 

Two neighbours in the same block also report chasing a male who was going through their properties at approximately 5:00 am.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle parked in the 600 block of 15th street.  The grey Mazda 3, had been stolen out of Dauphin on April 20, 2021.

Assault

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence shortly after 7:00 pm.  A 15-year-old male youth damaged another youth’s television, and then spit in the face of another individual. 

He was arrested at the residence and later released to an adult.  He will appear in court on June 15, 2021 on charges of Assault and Mischief Under $5000.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On April 21, 2021 at approximately 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of an unwanted individual at a residence.  Police located the 27-year-old male outside. 

He was arrested, as he was not complying with his curfew by being away from his own residence.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 21, 2021 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual in a residence whose behavior was causing concern for his friends and family.  They were unable to keep his behavior from escalating.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

LGCCA – Possess or Consume Liquor by a Minor

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of several females going through a vehicle in the 700 block of 9th street shortly before 11:00 pm.  Two of the females fled, however, the owners stopped one 16-year-old female youth.

The female was intoxicated and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  She will be released to a parent and given a fine under the LGCCA.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  An intoxicated 15-year-old female’s behavior was escalating to the point where her family was unable to care for her as she was becoming physically violent.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

IPDA

On April 22, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the area of the 800 block of 20th street at approximately 2:30 am.  Police located the 19-year-old male who was too intoxicated to care for himself, and there was nobody to turn him over to.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service.
