Possess Prohibited Firearm / Assault

On October 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence at approximately 4:00 am.  The 27-year-old male punched the victim before damaging property in the residence including TVs.  The victim did not require medical attention. 

Police located and arrested the male a short distance away from the residence following the assault.  Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of two sawed of 22 caliber rifles, a 2 ft. machete, bear mace and smoke bombs.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault, Mischief to Property, and Possess Prohibited Firearm X2.

 

Possession of Child Pornography

On October 21, 2021, following an investigation, members of Brandon Police Service Major Crime Section arrested a 25-year-old male who was found in possession of child pornography images and videos.  He was later released and will appear in court on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Assault

On October 20, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in a business in the 300 block of 18th street N. shortly after 12:00 pm.  The two individuals involved reported to police that they were assaulted by the other.  Police arrested a 27-year-old female who was later released to appear in court on December 20, 2021 on a charge of Assault.

Police also arrested a 27-year-old male who was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication.  He will be released once sober to appear in court on December 20, 2021 on charges of Assault and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Neither individuals involved were injured.

 

Theft Under $5000

On October 20, 2021, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of 18th street N.  The male behaved violently towards employees when confronted before leaving the business. 

Police located and arrested the 29-year-old male nearby still in possession of stolen items.  He was also to abide by conditions not to attend the business.  He was later released and will appear in court on December 20, 2021 on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 20, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in an apartment building in the 200 block of 8th street.  Witnesses report the male running around while yelling, and preventing others from entering the building.  The 43-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober to prevent his behavior from continuing.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 20, 2021, police located and arrested a 19-year-old female who was wanted on charges of Fail to Attend Court.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to being intoxicated at the time of arrest.  She will be released once sober to appear in court on December 16, 2021.

 

Breach of the Peace

On October 20, 2021, shortly before 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing issues in the area of the 000 block of Willowdale Cres by arguing with others who were working in the area and interfering with their work while attempting to steal items.  The 47-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
