Fraud Use of Credit Card

On May 17, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of a wallet from a vehicle in the 100 block of Princess Ave E.  A credit card from the wallet was later used at a Brandon business. Images taken from security footage at the business assisted officers in identifying the 29-year-old male suspect.  A second male suspect was also involved; however, his identity was not known.

On May 20, 2021, police located and arrested both suspects who were together at the time.  The known 29-year-old male suspect was later released to appear in court on August 9, 2021 on a charge of Fraud Use of Credit Card.

The unknown male initially gave police a different name in order to evade further charges, as he was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for Fail to Comply with Probation X2, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  Once his identity was confirmed, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on the outstanding arrest warrants, and new charges of Fraud Use of Credit Card, Public Mischief, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
