Stabbing - Suspect Arrested

On March 20, 2022, police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 300 block of 11th street Brandon at approximately 6:30 pm.  The two suspects left the residence prior to police arrival.

The victim, a 64-year-old male, was transported to hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.  Investigation revealed that the victim knew the suspects.

A 41-year-old female suspect was located and arrested by 6:50 pm.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Aggravated Assault/ Assault with a Weapon.  A second female suspect was not located.  Police continue to investigate.

 

Stabbing

On March 21, 2022, shortly after 4:00 am, police responded to a report of a stabbing.  Investigation revealed that the victim, a 19-year-old male was assaulted in the area of the 26th street and Willowdale Cres.  He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Initial investigation revealed there might have been up to three suspects involved in the altercation.

There is no information to suggest that the above two reported stabbings are related.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

On March 20, 2022, police responded to a report of neighbours complaining of a strong chemical smell coming from an apartment.  Investigation revealed that the smell was due to the tenant painting a fridge inside the apartment. 

Police learned that the 28-year-old male tenant had a warrant for his arrest for Fail to Appear in Court.  Upon his arrest, police discovered that he was in possession of Meth, Cocaine, and packaging materials.  He was later released and will appear in court this spring on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Possession of Cocaine and Proceeds of Crime.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 21, 2022, police responded to a report of a male suspect in the area of the 400 block of 11th street shortly after 1:00 am.  Witnesses observed the male throwing a brick, but no damage to property was located when police checked the area.  The 41-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his behavior from continuing.
