Theft of Catalytic Converters – Suspect Arrested

On June 3, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of two catalytic converters from vehicles parked in the 2000 block of Louise Ave. 

Security footage from the area assisted police in identifying and locating the 39-year-old male suspect. 

He was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 22, 2022 for Theft Under $5000 X2.

 

Party to the Offence – Assault

On May 27, 2022, police received a report of an assault, which occurred between several students after school.  Investigation revealed that one 12-year-old female proceeded to assault a 12-year-old male with punches and kicks after pushing him to the ground while another 13-year-old female recorded the assault.

On June 20, 2022, police arrested the 13-year-old youth.  She was released to appear in court on September 13, 2022 on a charge of Party to the Offence – Assault.  Police continue to investigate and additional charges are expected.

 

Vehicle Theft

On June 20, 2022, police received a report that a 2011 white Kia Soul with Manitoba license HSE 188, was stolen from the 500 block of 1st street.  The owner believes they dropped the keys nearby, but could not find them when they went to look for them.  When the owner came back with a second set of keys to retrieve the vehicle it was gone.

Mischief to Property

On June 20, 2022 at approximately 8:00 pm, an off-duty police officer witnessed a female cause damage outside a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave by throwing potted plants against two bicycles.  On-duty members responded, and located and arrested the 24-year-old female who was intoxicated at the time.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 18, 2022 on charges of Mischief to Property and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Breach of the Peace

On June 20, 2022, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female causing damage inside the home of her relative.  Police arrested and lodged the 18-year-old female to prevent her behavior from escalating. 

 

IPDA

On June 20, 2022, shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the area of the 1200 block of 20th street who was banging on doors.  Police located the female nearby.  The 41-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Prohibited Driving

On June 21, 2022 shortly after midnight, police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of 10th street.  The 21-year-old female driver was found to be prohibited from driving.  She was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 18, 2022 on a charge of Operation of a Conveyance while Prohibited.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On June 21, 2022 at approximately 2:00 am, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence on Cascade Bay.  The homeowner returned to find doors left open and the lights on.  Stolen was an internet router.

Arrest Warrants

On June 20, 2022, police conducted a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Victoria Ave shortly after 2:00 pm.  The driver was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Driving While Ability Impaired.  He was also to abide by conditions not to be in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.  The 27-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 18, 2022 on charges of Fail to Comply with Court Order, Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2 and Fail to Attend Court.

On June 21, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Break and Enter, Mischief to Property and Theft Under $5000.
