Theft under $5,000

At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a resident in the north end of the city reported an unknown person in their back yard. Officers located a 21-year-old male from Brandon on scene with a number of articles from the resident’s vehicle in his possession. Police released the suspect to appear in Brandon Provincial Court in February. He faces a single charge of theft under $5,000.

Other Arrests

  • At 10:00 a.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old female from Brandon turned herself in at BPS on an outstanding warrant of arrest for Breach of Probation. She was released to appear in court in January.
  • At 8:55 p.m. Saturday, a resident in the University area reported an unknown person in their yard. Officers located a 23-year-old male from Brandon on scene. The male was highly intoxicated and held in BPS cells overnight for release later today when sober.  
  • At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police attended a residence in the west end of the city for a disturbance within the home. A male in his 40’s was threatening to harm himself, and family called out of concern for his wellbeing. The male was intoxicated, so police took him into custody for the evening in order to prevent the situation from escalating. Police will arrange today for this individual to receive proper mental health services and supports, prior to his release from custody.
