Assault with a Weapon
On September 19, 2021 shortly before 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female in a business in the 000 block of Willowdale Crescent who was throwing merchandise. The female began acting this way after employees asked her if she required any assistance. She threw glass bottles on the floor and at employees prompting the employees to evacuate the other customers from the store and await police arrival. No one was injured during the incident.
Police arrested the 23-year-old female. She was later released to appear in court on November 22, 2021 on charges of Mischief to Property and Assault with a Weapon.
Assault
On September 19, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence shortly after 6:00 pm. The 37-year-old male suspect assaulted the victim causing minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The suspect left the residence prior to police arrival, and was located and arrested approximately one hour later. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released when sober to appear in court on November 18, 2021, on a charge of Assault.
Driving While Ability Impaired
On September 20, 2021, police conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Pacific Ave. shortly after midnight. The 24-year-old female driver was arrested for impaired driving and provided samples of her breath over the legal limit. She was later released to family members. She will appear in court on September 27, 2021 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
Possess Prohibited Weapon
On September 19, 2021 at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male who sprayed bear mace in the area of the 300 block of 14th street. No individuals were contaminated with the spray. The 31-year-old male was located and arrested. He was still in possession of the bear mace. He was later released to appear in court on November 22, 2021 on a charge of Possess Prohibited Weapon.
