Update: Roll over MVA – Suspect Arrested

An investigation into the vehicle roll over on July 30, 2021 in a parking lot at 34th and Victoria led police to learn the identity of the driver, however attempts to locate him were negative and an arrest warrant was put into effect.

On August 19, 2021, police located and arrested the 44-year-old male.  He was later released to appear in court in November 2021 on criminal charges of Dangerous Operation of Conveyance, Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident, and several HTA charges including Drive without Valid Driver’s Licence, and Drive an Unregistered Vehicle.

Original Release from July 31, 2021:

At 11:08 p.m. Friday, officers happened upon a single vehicle rollover accident in a parking lot at 34th Street and Victoria Avenue. Witnesses observed a truck driving through the lot strike a light pole and flip onto its side. The driver, who was the lone occupant, then fled the area on foot. A police K9 unit attempted to track the suspect but was not successful. Witnesses described the suspect as a bald Caucasian male wearing a tank top and shorts. There were no known injuries, and this matter remains under active investigation.

 

False Alarm of Fire

On August 20, 2021 shortly after 5:00 am, police and BFES attended to an apartment building in the 1400 block of Lorne Ave E for a disturbance.  Witnesses report a group of individuals screaming and arguing before one of them pulled the fire alarm.  Investigation revealed that a 21-year-old female put a hole in the drywall in the hallway before pulling the fire alarm, but there was no fire. 

She was located, arrested and later released to appear in court on October 14, 2021 on charges of False Fire Alarm, and Mischief to Property.

 

Assault

On August 20, 2021, at 1:30 am, police responded to a report of an assault in a residence.  Investigation revealed that the 38-year-old male suspect struck the victim numerous times; however, the victim did not require medical attention.  The suspect was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level.  He will be released once sober to appear in court on October 21, 2021.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 19, 2021, police located and arrested a 35-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Appear Court.  She was later released to appear in court on September 20, 2021.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On August 19, 2021 shortly before midnight, police located and arrested a 42-year-old male who was to abide by a curfew and abstain conditions.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

IPDA

On August 20, 2021, shortly after midnight, police received a call from an intoxicated male asking for assistance.  Police located the male in the area of the 1800 block of 1st street N.  The 29-year-old male had nowhere to go and no one to care for him.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On August 20, 2021, shortly after 1:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the 400 block of 21st street.  The 20-year-old female had nowhere to go and no one to care for her.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
