Motor Vehicle Accident – Victoria Ave E. and PTH Hwy 110.

On April 19, 2022, police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at approximately 2:49 pm at the intersection of PTH 110 and Victoria Ave E.

Initial investigation revealed that a car travelling east bound on Victoria Ave. proceeded east across HWY 110 at the controlled intersection, into the lane of travel of an SUV which was travelling north bound. 

The SUV struck the car on the passenger side, and both vehicles crossed into the ditch.

The 87-year-old male driver of the car was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 47-year-old male driver of the SUV did not require medical attention.  Both vehicles received significant damage.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this accident.  Police continue to investigate.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 18, 2022, shortly before 11:00 am, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.  Security footage from the business assisted in identifying the 21-year-old female suspect.  On April 19, 2022, police located and arrested the suspect.  She was later released to appear in court on June 13, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

Single Vehicle Motor Vehicle Accident

On April 19, 2022, police responded to a single vehicle collision in the 900 block of 34th street at approximately 1:38 pm.  Investigation revealed that the 40-year-old male driver was travelling southbound in the right lane.  The lane ended, and the driver proceeded into the ditch, where the vehicle flipped. 

The driver was unharmed and did not require medical attention.  Drugs and alcohol are not factors in the accident.  No other vehicles were involved.  The driver received a fine under the Highway Traffic Act for Careless Driving. 

 

Arrest Warrant

On April 19, 2022, a 31-year-old male attended to Brandon Police Service, as he was aware of a warrant in effect for his arrest.  He was later released and will appear in court on June 2, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Attend Court.
