Impaired Driver

On January 18, 2022 at approximately 6:00 pm, an off duty member of Brandon Police Service came upon a vehicle they believed was driven by an impaired driver, as they had observed numerous traffic violations. 

On duty members stopped the vehicle at 13th street and Richmond Ave.  The 63-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired driving and provided samples of his breath more than twice the legal limit. 

He was later released to a sober family member to appear in court on January 24, 2022 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

 

Theft Under $5000

On January 18, 2022, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave shortly after 10:00 am.  The female suspect left the business, but was located and arrested nearby.  The 23-year-old female was later released to appear in court on March 21, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On January 18, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 200 block of 5th street.  Suspects forced a basement door between January 14 and January 17, 2022.  Once inside, suspects forced open a lock box and stole sets of keys.

Breach of Peace

On January 18, 2022 at 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual causing problems in a residence.  The others in the home were unable to prevent the actions of the 32-year-old male from escalating.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On January 19, 2022 shortly before 5:00 am, police responded to a report of a female at a business in the 100 block of 12th street.  Employees caught the female doing illicit drugs in the washroom. The 19-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself, and was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On January 19, 2022, police located and arrested a 36-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Court Order X7, and Fail to Appear X2.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
