Break and Enter and Theft – Suspect Arrested

On August 18, 2021 at 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence on Aster Cres.  Witnesses reported seeing the male suspect use a sledgehammer to gain entry to the home.  The suspect left the home carrying stolen items.  Police continued to receive reports of the suspect male in the area entering various yards and jumping fences.  Members from General Patrol and Police Dog Unit flooded the area to locate the suspect. 

Police located and arrested the 34-year-old male suspect in the area of Buttercup Bay at approximately 2:00 pm.  Investigation revealed that he also took items from other properties.  He was later released and will appear in court on November 25, 2021 on charges of Break Enter and Theft.

 

Police respond to three Break and Enters in neighbourhood

On August 18, 2021, shortly after 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Allison Cres.  Suspects gained entry to the home between August 17 at 8:00 pm and August 18 at 8:00 pm by breaking a window in a door.  Stolen was an Insta-Pot, cooking pots and women’s clothing.

While in the neighbourhood, police learned of an attempted Break and Enter to a residence on the same street.  The homeowner reports being home on August 18, 2021 at 5:20 am when the suspect broke a window before being scared off.  Police were not called to respond at the time.

Police also learned of a third break and enter to a residential shed in the area, on Hanlon Cres.  Suspects stole a BBQ, portable fire pit, and various tools.  Another neighbour in the area located some of the stolen property in his yard and it was returned to the owners.

Also stolen from the area was a bicycle, which was left unlocked on a front yard on Hanlon Cres.
