On October 18, 2021, police and members of BFES responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Richmond Ave. E. and PTH 110 at 9:45 am. 

The three vehicles were involved including a Semi trailer, a car and a truck. 

When officers arrived on scene, the semi was engulfed in flames.  The driver of the semi, a 22-year-old male was uninjured.  The driver of the pick-up truck a 63-year-old male was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.  Brandon Police Service anticipates the intersection will be unavailable to traffic for the majority of the day while traffic analysts continue to investigate.

Individuals who need to access properties east of Richmond Ave E. and PTH 110 are being asked to travel east on Patricia Ave E, then north on either 49th street E. (Limestone Road) or 65th street E.  This includes employees attending to Maple Leaf Foods for the afternoon shift change. 

Police currently have the intersection blocked of to eastbound traffic at 17th street E, and to north and southbound traffic on PTH 110.
