Aggravated Assault

On March 17, 2022 shortly before 4:00 am, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave.  Investigation revealed that the suspect, a 19-year-old male, caused extensive injury to the victim by biting them in the face. 

The suspect was located nearby and arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court on May 12, 2022 on a charge of Aggravated Assault. 

The suspect and the victim knew one another. 

 

Stabbing – Update: Suspect to appear in Court today

The 24-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service on March 17, 2022 once she had received medical treatment.  She will appear in court today on a charge of Aggravated Assault.

Original release from March 17, 2022:

On March 16, 2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence in the 000 block of 6th street N. 

Upon arrival to the residence, police located a 52-year-old male inside the home with stab wounds.  He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female suspect was observed leaving the residence prior to police arrival.  Police located her a short distance away and arrested her. 

The 24-year-old female suspect remains in police custody and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries she received during the altercation.  Members from Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section continue to investigate.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

On March 17, 2022, police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 18th street N.  An investigation in to the driver lead police to discover that he was in possession of 6 grams of Meth, a conducted energy weapon, and cash.

The 34-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court this morning on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Possess Proceeds of Crime and Possess Prohibited Weapon.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On March 17, 2022, shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report from neighbors of an alarm sounding from a residence in the 200 block of 15th street.  An individual was also observed running away from the area. 

When police arrived at the residence, they discovered a window was forced open.  Police K-9 attempted to locate the suspect with negative results.  It is unknown if anything was taken during the break and enter.

Breach of Peace

On March 17, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence shortly after 10:00 am.  Witnesses were concerned for the wellbeing of an intoxicated 55-year-old female as her actions were escalating and they were unable to keep her safe.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
