Trafficking Meth

On January 17, 2022, at approximately 12:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of 16th street and Van Horne Ave.  Investigation into the occupants and the contents of the vehicle lead police to obtain a search warrant to a residence in the 600 block of 20 street.  Police located 2 ounces of Meth, a large quantity of unknown pills, Canadian currency, two cans of bear mace, and a stun gun following the search of the vehicle and the residence.  Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and face charges.

The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old female did not have a valid drivers licence.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be release to appear in court on March 10, 2022 on charges of Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possess Prohibited Weapon.

A 31-year-old female passenger of the vehicle initially produced identification to police that was stolen from another individual in Winnipeg.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released to appear in court on March 10, 2022 on charges of Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possess Prohibited Weapon.

Another passenger in the vehicle, a 27-year-old female, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for fail to attend court. She was arrested and later release to appear in court on March 10, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Attend Court.

 

Assault with a Weapon

On January 18, 2022, police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence at approximately 1:00 am.  Investigation revealed that following a fight between two individuals in which both parties assaulted one another, one suspect, a 42-year-old female, followed the other individual out of the residence and stabbed him.

The 43-year-old male victim of the stab wound received medical treatment, but has since been treated and released from the hospital. 

Police arrested both the 43-year-old male and a 42-year-old female.  They were lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.  The male will appear on charges of Assault, and Utter Threats, and the female will appear in charges of Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Assault

On January 16, 2022, police attended to a residence shortly before 9:00 pm following a report of an assault.  The suspect fled the residence prior to police arrival.  The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries.

On January 17, 2022, police located and arrested the 42-year-old male suspect.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared in court later in the day on a charge of Assault.

 

Utter Threats

On January 17, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly after 9:00 am.  A 42-year-old male was threatening to kill others in the home and behaving erratically.  Police arrested the suspect without incident.  He will appear in court on a later date on a charge of Uttering Threats.

 

Breach of Peace

On January 17, 2022, at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who was behaving erratically in a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  The 37-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober to prevent her behavior from escalating.

 

IPDA

On January 17, 2022, police responded to a 47-year-old male sleeping in the common area of an apartment building in the 200 block of 15th street.  The male was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself with nowhere else to stay.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 18, 2022 shortly before 6:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a business in the 700 block of 10th street.  A female in the business began throwing bananas when she became upset, before fleeing.  Police located and an arrested the 29-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charged of Fail to Attend Court.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On January 18, 2022, police located and arrested a 20-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Break & Enter, and Theft.  She was later released to appear in court on March 4, 2022. 

On January 17, 2022, a 33-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service, as he was aware of outstanding charges of Assault and Fail to Comply with Probation for his arrest.  He was later released to appear in court on a later date.
